Responsibilities
- Own the options business plan, P&L and budget proposal. Select the initial clients, venues, underlyings and strategies; define the sequence across securities, futures and crypto options and the resources required for each.
- Select and negotiate carrying or executing brokers, FCM services, crypto options venues, OTC dealers, market data and technology with the relevant market heads. Distinguish agency exchange access from a client OTC contract hedged elsewhere.
- Own strategy eligibility and lifecycle requirements, including exercise, assignment, expiry, deliverables, adjusted contracts, dividends, multi-leg orders and the resulting stock, futures, crypto or cash obligations.
- Work with Risk on Greeks, volatility and scenario analysis, margin, concentration, early exercise, pin risk and partial assignment. Ensure product limits and disclosures describe operational and funding risks as well as expiry payoff.
- Lead product permissions, account approval, client education and disclosures with Legal and Compliance.
- Establish the requirements for each legal entity, customer type and instrument rather than relying on a generic broker licence.
- Deliver options chains, strategy entry, order routing, reporting, reconciliation and exception handling with Product, Engineering and Operations. Validate the full lifecycle with carrying partners before expanding customer permissions.
- Build specialist distribution with Sales, train client-facing teams and lead the options team. Own launch, client servicing, adoption and continuous improvement, and justify each expansion through contribution economics and operational evidence.
Requirements
- A record of leading an options brokerage product or business into live client use, including responsibility for implementation, partner dependencies and commercial outcomes.
- Deep expertise in at least one major options market, strong command of options mechanics and risk, and a credible ability to build specialist coverage for the other markets in this mandate.
- Practical understanding of listed securities exercise and assignment, options on futures and crypto settlement differences, sufficient to identify gaps and recruit or engage the required specialist expertise.
- Experience with carrying or clearing partners, options execution technology, multi-leg workflows, client segmentation and the product approval process in a regulated business.
- Evidence of leading Product, Operations, Risk and Sales, managing a business plan and communicating in professional English. Proprietary volatility trading alone is insufficient without brokerage launch and service ownership.
